Teachers' intercultural professionalism: challenges of religious and worldview literacy

Inkeri Rissanen is an Academy of Finland Postdoctoral Researcher at the Faculty of Education and Culture at Tampere University. . She is an expert in the academic re­search field of multicultural education as well as religions and worldviews in education. In her main re­search she examines educators’ intercultural competences and mindsets which she can investigate in her ongoing re­search proj­ect Implicit theories of malleability as the core of teachers’ intercultural competence (2019-2022). Her second key interest applies to the challenges of religious and worldview literacy in every day school-life, and particularly questions related to the inclusion of Muslim students and parents. Against this background, we are looking forward to Dr Rissanen bringing her ex­per­tise on the exciting fields of re­search to the discourse at the SIG19 con­fe­rence.
